![]() | Ernest St Clair (1893-1982) (Pictured here in 1919 aged 26) Ernest served aboard the Carpathia during it's encounter with survivors from RMS Titanic on the night of 14th April 1912. He narrated a short personal account of the event when donating a life-jacket and a pair of brass thole pins to the Merseyside Maritime Museum in 1980. (The items, which are still on display at the Museum, were recovered by Ernest from one of Titanic's lifeboats and kept as a reminder of that fateful night) |
